April is Bowel Cancer Awareness month. Whether you are directly affected by bowel cancer, or you just want to find out more, we have information that can help.
General awareness (Age 40+):
- Detecting bowel cancer at the earliest stage makes you up to nine times more likely to be successfully treated. Get in touch with your GP surgery if you have any of the symptoms of bowel cancer for 3 weeks or more. Learn more here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bowel-cancer/symptoms/
Screening awareness (Age 58+):
- Just a tiny sample detects signs of cancer. If you’re sent a bowel cancer screening kit, put it by the loo. Don’t put it off. Learn more here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bowel-cancer-screening/
